OH DEAR, I better tell Mary and Rick not to put water on them if that's what happens. Tomorrow, they might have several "terrorist"!!!  So, feeding them makes the Gremlins. Maybe that's why they were such angels here. [smile]

Well it has finally happened... Murphy and Pebbles have taken down Micah like a Gazelle on the Serengeti..... I can only hope it was swift...

Just as I figured, Pebbles going for the throat and Murphy circling.... it was not pretty or swift

Micah has some new playmates... I hear they all took a long nap, then Pebbles made Micah swear paw about some plan for taking over the Human Race... Film at 11

Ok it is certainly not my decision to hijack T’s forum and just focus on puppy updates, but I have to admit, it is fun talking about them

Now many of you remember those cute adorable pictures of Pebbles with the Lawn Gnome and pink bow… I think there was a collective ‘awwwwww’ they were Photo shopped, I know it.  Also the numerous posts from Mama T about how Pebbles is such a cuddle butt, and Murphy is a total bully.   Pfffffff, lies I tell you all lies… I have been swindled.  I know now that people in Texas were  in cahoots all along so I send this warning to all puppy owners.

I am convinced that Pebbles is a latent undercover operative, who seems hell bent on getting her way, as with Murphy whose life will come to an end if she doesn’t get to climb up in Daddy’s lap in the morning.  I seem to recall ‘someone’ marketing the exact opposite… hmmmmmmmm.

Watching the puppies explore new areas of life is a total blessing, considering that now I have desert landscaping from what was once a lush green blooming back yard, but it is hard to get upset when your brought a flower er branch (roots and all) every morning to say hello.   Or the joy and laughter that has been long absent as you see one of your new babies being ejected in midair across the yard as your adult Mastiff (Micah @190) teaches the young ones  (Murphy)the joy and art of “Jolly Ball” tossing (sometimes with puppy attached).  Slow motion is a beautiful thing isn’t it especially traveling in flight with eye contact into the loving eyes of an 11 week old, they seem to pick their landing spot before contact.  I am sure that Micah picked this up watching TV with the Midget tossing segment, that is what gave him the idea.   Multimedia does have it’s downside, no wonder our young are in such a mess.

Pebbles I am without a doubt convinced is and has been a member of a secret puppy Ninja squad since day one, seriously, how could Mama T be so easily fooled?   Ninja    Pebbles makes no sound, because of the many hours practicing walking on Rice Paper…she leaves no trace.  Poof, she is there attack ……then gone.  I have observed this on more than one occasion as I see our cat’s slumber in the sun become instantly transformed into borderline schizophrenia, possibly based on sleep deprivation.  The dog is on a mission to destroy the mentality of that cat, shatter its very existence.  Our cat fell out of a tree Sunday, fell out of a tree, asleep.   Concerning the Jolly Ball incident, on launching occasions, Pebbles returns back to the adult, in an attempt not to launchee, but to be the launchor.   I am convinced that in time she will achieve this goal.  I am forced to accept the obvious as anything else would be unacceptable.

I am safely back at work now, I do scan the Northwest in the direction of our home for either a white signal from the gun I left Mary or a black plume of smoke followed by sirens…. Happy Wednesday.

This is the update from Sunshine's new home. Since my angels are perfect and Sunshine is perfect, I'm wondering what Rick did to my perfect Pebbles...giggle!

All is still going well, and this morning she picked her call name. Greg and I had several names in mind before we picked her up but none seemed to be quite right. We came up with a couple more options late last night and this morning gave them a try. She was playing with a toy, but when I said Laosine (also spelled Labhaoise)--pronounced lee-shuh or leesha--her head popped up, she left the toy, and came over to me and sat.  It is an Irish name (hence the weird spelling) meaning "radiant girl" and she certainly is.

She has a good appetite (even licks Hedley's and Toby's bowls when they are done), drinks plenty of water, and there have been no signs of stress. A few whimpers last night when she was first crated, but settled right down. She has been in and out of her crate on her own this morning, even going in to stay for a bit of nap. Most potties have been outside, but the two that weren't were not her fault (I need to get trained better).

She has been appropriately curious--exploring at a nice leisurely pace, and interacting with a few of the cats. It did take a swipe (a miss) along with a spit from one of the younger cats for her to figure out that hissing is a warning not to be ignored. But lesson learned and already knows that some kitties like to touch noses (I wish I could have gotten those pictures) and some don't. My most dog knowledgable cat (Anne--you know Stuart), has not said a word and just lays on the floor with her. He knows she is no threat. She has found all the dog toys/bones and even managed to make a little pile of a couple of the smaller soft toys. She laid on those while she chewed on a bone. Smart girl. She with the most toys wins.

Mama Hedley is still protecting both Laosine and her water bowl from cats (it is so funny to watch her run over to stand between them--this started after Laosine got spit at; Hedley is not going to let that little baby be bullied). I know y'all weren't surprised about Hedley, but we were a little concerned as she is a bit of an attention hog. She is being wonderful. Toby is a little grumpy--but only when he wants to sleep and is disturbed.

We are going to the vet Friday morning for her meet and greet visit and she will meet the grandkids (and our son and daughter-in-law) either Saturday or Sunday. Our daughter Emma was here last night and, not surprisingly, fell in love with her.

Well it is morning nap time, and all mastiffs are passed out and dreaming. Thanks again to both of you. She is a true blessing.

Connie

My dearest PIA

So good to hear of your domestic tranquility and that your finally running with the pack in Texas.  Murphy and I have already domesticated the adults here; they seem like a decent lot, although there is some resistance to letting us have total control.  Time shall tell my good friend.  It has taken us nearly three weeks to get the ‘humans’ in line, we finally have them moving in the right direction.  However, I must admit that both of us seem at time a bit confused as to the humans reference to us as ‘Jesus Christ, and dammit”, it doesn’t occur that often, but when it does, we just sit, cock our heads to a slight tilt, lower our ears, and they seem to lose all motion and train of thought.  We could be on to something, and if it proves out, will send solution in code via email.  Ninja puppies unite!

I hope that your living conditions are superior to ours, it seems that when we arrived, Dasani water was the beverage of choice, today it is Fiji, and yes my love I shudder also.  Yesterday our linen and bedding was only made four times, there was no spillage or messes on our part, I often wonder how we will develop with the lack of comfortable sheets and lumpy pillows.  I would ask Murphy, but she is in the middle of her Reflexology session at the moment, I can’t stand the vanilla candles but that is what she insists on, so while she is in session, I am on my IPad writing to you.  I can’t believe our humans only gave me a 64 GB IPad, how am I to store my videos?  How am I to tweet properly and Skype with PH?  Gawd that woman can drive me insane.

Love I must jet, I am still yet to bathe, and I have a 1pm at the Boulders for a Turquoise Wrap

Kiss kiss

Skype you later

Ms. P

Well Rick & Mary, I too can attest that Murphy waz the shit-disturber in the litter. Ms Pebbles was one of the sweet lovey ones. Honestly Murphy was the one I kept saying looked the most like her daddy Camo & honestly I couldnt believe how much she even acted like him as a pup. I have no clue what mojo went on to change things. Maybe its just the change in scenary..

Hello to all from the home of Sunshine on Laoise (yep I misspelled it before, can't imagine why) in steamy Houston. I didn't get to this site until yesterday, and boy was I relieved to hear that we were not the only ones victimized by bait and switch [wink]. The sweet calm angel that slept the 500 miles home on Tuesday, took long naps and quietly played/chewed on toys when awake on Wednesday, slowly morphed into the clever (scarily so) imp that steals beds, bones and toys from Uncle Toby and runs rings around her Mama Hedley. Barking and playfully bouncing around, she distracts her mark, then swoops in to take whatever she wants. No wonder Uncle Toby retreats behind the baby gates for long stretches of alone time! Laoise knows some cats are nice, some should be ignored, and that all cats are enablers, happy to swipe all sorts of fun things off of counters where they were once safe from marauding chewers. She also knows we wouldn't trade her for the world!! She is the best snuggle bunny, gives the sweetest kisses, and is the perfect excuse for that afternoon nap.

Cheers to all,
Connie (and Greg)

We will get some pictures up soon.

Mary accused Rick of giving the girls "speedballs". Maybe that's what's going on with Laoise! [smile]
