I'm sure she's out of jail by now. To the best of my memory, her dogs were not confiscated.

Last I heard she still had not gotten an attorney.    She has been scheduled three times for court and the 13th of this month was one of them.  I have not heard how that went, yet.   I am hoping that the judge appointed her an attorney since she seems to be stalling, imo...

From my understanding, She placed most (I said Most) of the dogs in breeder homes before animal control showed up.  She still had two mastiffs, one pug and one cat, I believe, and they were in decent condition at the time, so they were not taken by animal control.

Well, of course. You don't think she'd just place them for free in a great pet home do ya?!! After all, a breeding bitch/dog can be sold for good money. Please note the extreme sarcasm in my tone.

Hi All,

I am currently the mother of two Heska Mastiffs; I am not condoning Angie and Scott's decisions. My husband and I first adopted Dax (1.5 hrs) from a wonderful family who unfortunately had to relocate to from MA to CA because of urgent deployment orders. My family and I have been blessed with Dax, he is the most well behaved family member. Getting back on track, Dad's family warned me of Angie and Scott in the sense that something about them was a little "shady"- So I kept my eyes wide open when. I called thsm because my previous research revealled that breeders are always willing to help a family who has one of their puppies. Angie was responsive, at first and was upset and seem concerned that Dax as just handed over to us. I mentioned to her that I was debating about whether or not to stud Dax. She said if I paid her $600 I could have a full registratiln because that was the filing fee. I knew damn well the cost wasn't $600, but I paid her anyway because she was quick to answer my questions and obtained Heska Mastiffs Full Registration Contract. The Fish's told me it was OK to starting studding Dax now (1yr at the time). I called the AKC, I called a reproductive Vet in my area and I Google's the hell out of mastiff studding. I wasn't surprised to find out that studding a mastiff required many tests and shouldn't be done before 2yrs. Not to mention Dax should be propertly examined to see if his disposition is one that could improve the breed. So I called a few people off the mastiff list I acquired from MCOA only to find out that other breeders wont look at another breeders dog. I'm more then annoyed about this, but only at myself I should have dug deeper before handing over $600. At this point I am not studding Dax, but I want him to grow to full size so he wont be neutered until he's two, next June.

Angie called a week later and told me about her situation, which I was familiar about because of my own online research throught the forums. She asked if I'd be willing to take Capone (her no 1 stud- so she claims), I told her I was not giving her any more money. She and Scott Sid they were concerned for the dogs and not the money. My oldest daughter and I made the 2.5-3 hour trip from Winthrop, MA to CT and picked up Capone (5yrs). He is just as amazing as Dax, but in his own way. Needless to say, Capone is in a wonderful home and has never been used in a breeding since the Fishes gave him up, nor will he ever. Angie and Scott wouldn't even give me his shit record or his microchip information.

It was a little hard at first having two mastiffs (1st family dogs) and only once did I call in the beginning questioning my choice; however I'm glad I stu k it out through the wrestling and the wall slobber, NOT TO MENTION THEIR KISSES.. LOVE THE KISSES.

I am open to any questions, tips, guidance or just hellos from the mastiff community becuase i only have your forums to turn to for answers; I WILL NEVER AGAIN CONTACT ANGIE OR SCOTT FISH.

If anyone has ever used Capone during a breeding please let me know; Angie and Scott refused to give his birthday and it bothers me, everyone needs a treat on their birthday.

ALSO.. Anyone have any ideas on how to handle "air humping"?

Thank you,
Taylor

Welcome Taylor and thank you for sharing your story.  You were very right and diligent to do your research before studding out such a young boy!  I am glad they ended up with you instead of a back yard breeder or worse

Hi Taylor. I'm sorry I didn't see your post earlier. Thank you for taking in the boys and giving them a good home. Please know that anyone on the board will gladly help you with any questions you may have. After all, when it comes right down to it, we all believe in the welfare of the dogs NO MATTER where they came from.

Taylor, I am curious if you had no intentions to breed Dax or Capone how come you are running an ad in the Ebay Classifieds to stud out your Greco Greiner hall linage male DAX after you stated above you were going to neuter him?  I heard you were going to ask 3500$ stud fee after his testing is done but right now you will take $2000. I also heard that you have received a lot of private messages asking to use these boys as stud is that why you have changed your mind?  Just curious.
