OH COOL, an opportunity to educate!! I LOVE IT!!

Quote:
you didnt say it was a flesh eating bacteria, but you did say a drug like cipro, and another HUMAN medication to increase blood flow did help. Yes, Dr. Garfield (a Dermatological specialist in Dallas) put her on Cipro (once he found out that it would kill the bacteria in the wound) and Trental (a human drug that dilates blood vessels so the antibiotics could get to the wound better). Both drugs are inexpensive and can be gotten with a prescription from WalMart. ( howd you manage that R.PH  Goodness, I didn't even need an advanced degree to figure out how to fill a prescription from the vet.

spiders have toxins, staph has bacteria. cipro doesnt deal with toxins Brown Recluse spider bites cause necrosis (death) of the tissue (because of the toxin). That, in turn, sets up a perfect storm for bacteria to set up shop. The first step is to remove the necrotic tissue (dead) and then find out what bacteria is present so you can pinpoint the right antibiotic. So, you see Cipro was necessary after cleaning out the necrotic tissue. Did I put that simple enough for you? BTW, Staph IS a bacteria; it doesn't have a bacteria. Spiders have toxin and it depends on the kind of spider what the affect of the toxin is. If you get a Brown Recluse bite and go to the doctor, they will remove the dead tissue and probably give you a great big shot of Rocephin. Nasty buggers they are.

WOW,  I have had an opportunity to look at Teresa's typed in pedigrees and typed in supposed OFA certs. We all can type in crap, but it it truthful?. Do you have any actual official documents to scan in? Official pedigrees or OFA health certificates? According to your typed in pedigrees we have more in common with our lineage then you probably want to admit, now that you have bashed some of your own dogs lineage.

I have been advised by web building professionals, about modifications, to improve my site previously and had been in a complete over haul/rebuild, until 8 weeks ago when pups were born, it came to a halt. As it was, half done, hence the reason for things not working or not there. Just for the doubters who made no effort to know who I was, I have scanned official documents, going in on my thumbnails. In due time as I have a life besides cater to Teresa's Drama page. Most are up now tho if you care to look. Not so pretty but truthful.

Honestly, could ya stop being so hateful...... I would much rather help a disadvantage child or a rescued critter then spend my money on a handler to run around for a ribbon. I dont need a CH next to my dogs name for pet homes, their are enough of you out their semi-related doing it for me. I would love to see my dogs go to show homes (I thought) But the more i read about you people the less I want my puppies near your kind, if they are anything like you Teresa. In 30 years of breeding I have only 5 dogs with full rights sold. I dont sell full rights, so I can avoid, mislead people from doing it wrong. What is important is Health not a CH next to their name

A true advocate of the breed does not attack other breeders, That is a competitive cut throut business action, indicating concern, that its gonna hit your bottom line. An advocate is nurturing, to the new guy, encourages the new breeders, as you portrayed yourself earlier. Several people have made me their own "Teresa" (person to call on when they don't know what to do) after having been tossed to the side, by you, because you had nothing to gain from them. Because they associated with the wrong people, really? You need to grow up lady, I read and posted your deleted letter to Christina. Real fair to Ban her and delete her posts cause she wasn't on your bandwagon. Real advacate to the new guy aren't ya I feel sorry for you & pray you find some peace so you don't have to be so mean

I'm not sure how you got such a mess on your hands with that dogs leg but glad shes better, my dogs have NEVER had such health issues.

I'm done with your pissing match, so zip it up, move on, be productive not destructive.

Example of how new breeders were treated here
Christina Jones Tina Clement Devincourt Mastiffs

Hi

To be honest, I did delete you. You seem like such a nice person, but I just can't support the people you've chosen associate yourself with.I see it as a recommendation to have other breeders' info listed on my friends list and after looking at the dogs you're breeding and their pedigrees, I don't feel like I can support you. I mean you no disrespect as a person but I don't feel comfortable being affiliated with your kennel name.

Take care

Tina
Christina Jones When indeed was deleted right after posting my comment about Carole.........hmmmm but yet told I was deleted for my pedigree's wow lady needs to learn her pedigree's es[ecially since my 2 newest are out of Laxy D's and Sherwood to big known mastiff breeders whom also show lol.......think it was more because I spoke the truth and let me add I was blocked so I could not respond back.

Sorry Christina you are one off many who have tried to post here and got deleted. Real Fair huh

Shoe metaphor?

Who is Christina Jones? She hasn't been banned from here and I have no influence over Facebook at all. And, what letter? Do you have me confused with someone else?

Ethical, responsible breeders have nothing to fear from me as I gladly will refer great puppy buyers to great breeders. On the other hand, those that have done wrong by people or the breed won't find me very patient with them.

And a final lesson to someone who's supposedly been breeding for so long (Carole), if you'll click on the links for each of my dogs, you'll find it takes you directly to the OFA website. I'd say that's pretty official. Anything not listed on the OFA website has a scanned copy of the documents. What a NOVEL idea!! The ones stating "pending" are pups that are too young to test yet. You might try figuring out how to do that; OH BUT, you first have to HAVE the test for them to be on the OFA website. And, btw, I still don't see pedigrees on your page. Again, several generations back doesn't really count. One of the red flags I warn people to watch for is when someone boast of "Champion" pedigree but you have to look three generations back to find them.

Okay, I'm having a WTF moment. How does Sahara's paw have anything to do with Von Scheidel???  Oh, and that girl didn't have flesh eating bacteria, if she did, she wouldn't be alive today, or at least not with that leg.  Sounds like someone needs to get their story straight.  Actually it sounds and looks like a tactic to distract from the subject at hand.  Someone needs a better deflection tactic.

Yes, I deleted Christina Jones from my facebook list a long time ago, after she repeatedly mentioned how much she admired certain people that most responsible breeders stay far away from. After I read her comments I went to her website and was less than impressed with her breeding practices and many planned litters. I posted nothing about her publicly, just quietly deleted her. She recently sent me a private message asking me if I had deleted her and I responded privately with the message you posted above (not privately.)  I didn't know someone who I deleted could still read my posts, since I have them set to be seen only by my "friends". In her message to me she stated that my posts still showed up on her wall, which I didn't want, so I blocked her. Problem solved. I didn't publicly bash her dogs, claim that they didn't even look like a Mastiff and should never be bred, had no pedigrees or health testing, say anything about her having 4 or 5 planned litters this spring, or say anything about her dealing with known scam artists and disreputable people. Nope, I just quietly deleted her off of MY facebook page. I'm not sure what "truth" she thinks she spoke and really I'm not interested in knowing.
I won't comment about the rest of what you wrote, as 1. I can't understand most of the misspelled, unpunctuated rambling and 2. your jumbled, irrational statements alone do a better job of proving any point I could try to make than I ever could.

Ms. Pope,

I have looked all through your web site and I have a few questions for you.

I won't make any statements about the quality of your dogs or how they may or may not conform to the AKC standard as I don't think the pictures on your site show them in a way where they can be properly evaluated.

It is my strong opinion that you misrepresent many things on your site and I find myself wondering why.  You seem to be proud of your dogs and your "breeding program".  If you feel so proud why do you have to mislead people?

I will point out a couple of the statements that I feel are untrue on your web site and perhaps you would be willing to address them.

-All breeding stock are OFA certified or out of certified parents.  This isn't true.  You're further misleading puppy buyers by putting the OFA and PennHip logos on the very top of the first page of your web site.  Not nice!

-You've placed the words "Greiner Hall, Lionhearted and Iron Hills Lines" on your site as well.  This too is very misleading.  You may see a dog or two from those from one of those lines, several generations back in your pedigrees, but you are not breeding those "lines".  You are not line breeding your dogs on those pedigrees.  For you to claim such a thing is not true.

-Your site claims "8 week old pups - House broke to doggy door, as well as approximately 30 obedience commands, verbal, hand signals & come to a whistle"  Seriously?  I can't understand how you would get a puppy buyer to believe such a thing!  That one lie right there would be a deal breaker for me.  I would never be able to do business with you because I would know that from the beginning you were thinking of me as an idiot.  That's just insulting.

-Your site claims "Von Schiedel's Sherman Tank "Cowboy" weighs 335#". Anybody with two eyes can see that dog doesn't weigh anywhere near 335 lbs.  Stop it!

-Your site claims "Von Schiedel's Rebelious Storm "Rebel" weighs 315#".  Again, stop it!

So, if you're so proud of what you've got going there why would you feel the need to mislead puppy buyers?  Why not just be truthful? Let the dogs and the facts speak for themselves.

**I also have a question on a breeding listed on your site.  You show a breeding announcement between "Rebel" and "Lady".  You mention that "Lady" will be retired after this litter and show her birth date as 2-04-02.  Are you breeding a 10 year old bitch?

Holy Snikes the Whacka Moles are loose in the courtyard and Farg0o0o is leading the race.

Farg0, I have seen some bizarre statements in my time on the Internet, how you can go from some discussion concerning and individual with a “suspect” business model to the definition of Groupthink, is beyond me.  One can only logically presume that your intent is to draw members here as the next Jonestown model and we are all willing to drink the Kool-Aid to benefit (Mother) Theresa.  Man you are way off base and honestly need to (in a sober moment) re-read your postings. I have several times, I enjoy bizarre thought patterns, reminds me of my time in the 70’s.

I applaud your ability to go to Wikipedia, which shows a cognitive skill set beyond Crayons.  I would like to ask you since you are presenting yourself as an authority at least in the world of cut and paste from Wikipedia. Share with us some independent thought.    Do not strain.    Since this is a Message Board on Mastiffs…do you own any?  Other than going to Wikipedia and looking up the definition of Mastiff, what is your experience?  Please enlighten this board with your wisdom.  Please share with us all, what you felt when you helped give birth to puppies and held new life in your hands.  Please tell us how you kept them warm, trained them, cleaned up after them, slept with them and on that terrible day when the end was near, you held their head in your lap and cried until it hurt and you could not breathe as they went to sleep for good. Tell me about that you self-absorbed individual.

Breeder Bashing?   I am sorry I do not buy that argumentation theory (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argumentation_theory) an issue was brought to this Message Board and critiques are going to be made, that is the focus of boards like this.  I would like to compliment and make public note of the changes that have been made to the web site in question.  Breeders of all animals, be it dogs, cats, horses or pigs, at some point take pride in what they do.  Yes, I will acknowledge that there are those in it just for the money and they make a lot of it. They are arrogant, self-absorbed, self-righteous and mendacious (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deception).  Individuals of this nature will be called out on the carpet if they represent themselves as other than that on the particular Message Board.

I am a member of several Mastiff boards, including the UK Mastiff discussion Forum and let me tell you compared to some people, the owner of this Message Board if far to lenient with individuals such as yourself that broadcast their ignorance, and yet are proud of it.  I doubt it is bliss.

I spent last Sunday with the Executive Director of Delta Training, for the strict purpose of learning of what is expected in bringing a Giant Breed into Therapy work.  My sole intent was to insure, that when my dog does pass, he would not be in any situation where he may react and have an adverse effect on Mastiffs.  I am not a breeder, I have no intent to be ever, what I am is a responsible pet owner that not only wants to ensure that my pet will behave in the proper manner but I also will be responsible.  Message Boards of this nature give the “novice”, a resource to learn and to ask questions in a positive manner.  My experience over the years has shown it is positive.  My experience has also shown me those individuals such as yourself that post rants are nothing more than a lurker on Internet Message Boards is with no credible background and are generally lonely and self-absorbed.

If you don’t’ have anything positive to contribute, please do not, it is a waste of time for individuals that give a damn and really puts a bad taste in people that are looking for solid advice.  The owner of this Message Board is not the Messiah of Mastiffs, however I have never known her to turn anyone down that sincerely needed help or had a question.  Much like the majority of members here and on other boards.

You are way out of your league here man and your comments and thought process/direction, clearly represent your true intentions.

That's why I banned FargOoOo. If they had something constructive to say, I would have let it go, but he was just being idiotics. Ms Pope is not banned as she has every opportunity to defend herself and answer the question asked by several of us. As we all can see, she has not answered. I think that speaks volumes because she CAN'T defend her practices.

I just went back to the VonSchiedel site.  I'm not sure why I'm so bothered by it...I'm typically pretty good at ignoring things like this.  I honestly believe this is the most misleading website I've seen during my time in Mastiffs.

There are a few more things I would love for you to address Ms. Pope.

On your "boys page" I was appalled to see the following statements.  I will break them up, but please know that they have been copied word for word.

-"If you choose to buy dogs from people who only give a two year guarantee that is your own buyer beware.OFA does not accept any health testing until after the dog turns 2 years old & 1 day old."
**Ms. Pope, This isn't true.  OFA accepts preliminary x-rays on dogs much earlier than 2 years.  I had a conversation with Dr. Keller myself where he said 12 months is actually a great age to do prelims on a Mastiff.  I realize you don't do business with OFA, but you should still know this information.

-"Our dogs are health certified for 10 generations back or we don't breed them"
**Ms. Pope, This isn't true.  All of your dogs are registered with "VonSchiedel" in their name.  There is not one VonSchiedel dog in the OFA data base.  You don't health test your animals.  That's your choice...whatever.  I just don't understand.  You seem to place value on health testing seeing as you mention it all over your website.  Why not just go ahead and test?

-"Does the dog have black ears and mask?(puppy ears with specks of black do turn black) If they do not it can be a visual red flag that they are likely to have internal issues.  Health issues you won't know about until they hit puberty at 2-5 years of age."
**Ms. Pope,  This isn't true.  For you to suggest that a dog lacking pigment may suffer health issues is simply ludicrous.  If you believe that, I feel sorry for you.  If you made that mess up, shame on you!

You know, I have no problem with you breeding your dogs.  I couldn't care less if you show or health test.  Those are all personal choices.  What I have a huge problem with is your misrepresentation of the facts.  I am able to look at your site and see the lies all over it, but inexperienced puppy buyers cannot.  They are easily fooled by your nonsense.  You owe people better than that!
