Ummm, that's not the story I heard from a very reliable source. I heard you DID sing "Soft Kitty" to them. [smile]

We don't have many updates from here. Poor girls are behind on training but are still really sweet girls. We have had a very traumatic few months. Long story short, I lost both my mom and dad within 4 days of each other and the joined funerals were Saturday. Dad had been sick for several months, but Mom passed very quickly (3days) from h1n1 flu. Yes,she had gotten the flu shot this year so apparently there's a mutation of H1N1 that the flu shot doesn't cover.

All of the dogs have been a God send. I don't know how I would have made it with the healing powers of Mastiff fur. Now, however, it is time to begin getting back to a normal life which includes socialization and training if the babies.

Good girls! I would guess that's where Pia and Rain are weight wise...and, for the record, I do not buy the fever story! [smile]

BTW, I need to comment on the vortex shift you aledge is in Albq (or was it Santa Fe...been way too long ago). I actually think it moves. You ALL remember that I named Pia for her being a HOLY TERROR when she was a puppy. That whole temperament test where you flip them on their back and see how they do. Well, Pia failed that miserably and Rain flew through it. That was then. This is now. Pia is the sweetest, most laid back girl with the best manners ever. You ask her to move and she moves. You roll her on her back and she's more than happy to oblige. Rain, on the other hand, has developed a mind of her own. You tell her to move and she firmly plants her butt where she is and REFUSES to move. You roll her on her back and she's like "HELL NO, I DO NOT WANT TO DO THAT". She is absolutely HIDEOUS to her sister and I have to tell her to "BE EASY" with Pia. I think she has the idea that Pia's ears are removable and she should be able to run off when them like some stolen sock from the house. Poor Pia... I'm thinking Rain gets to go to "Camp Bruce" VERY SOON, whereas, I don't know what I'd do without Pia. She's so sweet and such a cuddle bunny and I really need her right now. She's quiet and cooperative but she also has a penchant for socks as she taught me when she puked up two pair at my feet. LOVELY..GRUMP...I still don't know where they came from because they weren't socks I recognized, but the truth is, there's LOTS in my house I don't recognize right now because I've got two houses combined into one after my parent's passed away so unexpectedly. Anyway, this litter has been interesting to say the least!

IMG_1339.jpg Happy half-birthday to all from Laoise!
Apparently a little porky at 103 lbs, she is at times the most sweet cuddly gentle baby that not only accepts hugs, but gives them too. Of course when not in that mode, she is a stubborn, crazy, wild child that still thinks the world is to not only be experienced but that it should be eaten too. Seems having that little extra time with Pia and Rain caused them both to rub off on her! As far as training....As long as there are no people or dogs around, it goes well. Definitely the social butterfly, Laoise would rather visit with everyone else and their dog, than listen to me. Sigh.

Sigh....Rain's new "game". She thinks it's just awesome to take my clothes off the bottom rack of the closet with hangers still on them and run through the house. I came home to clothes ALL over the house. SHEESH...I put a doggie gate in front of the door now, but why in THE world would that be such a fun game???

Meanwhile, the one I thought was going to be a holy terror (Pia) is about the most laid back, sweetest dog I've ever had (she's JUST like her momma). She never does anything wrong and if I even scold the other dogs, Pia gets her feelings hurt. Yes, she LOVES everyone...especially kids. It's AMAZING how different they ended up being from what they were as little babies.

Sounds like between the two you have Laoise [smile]--except I get a break when the halo is on.

Hello Folks…

Well it has been a while since I have posted anything, I have been reading (good to see Gus doing well), just honestly haven’t had time for puppy updates.

“The Ladies” as they are now referred to, are healthy happy and warm.  Serious training has been instigated and to be honest, it is an uphill battle.  I am convinced it had something to do with the trip from Denver and the stop in Santa Fe N.M. and those damn vortex’s  or some X Files phenomenon that we have yet to discover.   Well, as you may recall, it was Murphy who, was the trouble maker with Pebbles as the runt, enter the Vortex and they shifted.   Murphy is now, how shall we say…standing on her own, and not taking the gruff as was back in September – December.

Of the two, Murphy takes commands without any issue, Pebbles is a different story – example:  When I tell “The Ladies” it’s time for bed, Murphy out of a dead sleep, wakes up, and proceeds down the hall to her kennel after brushing her teeth and goes to sleep.  Pebbles on the other hand instantly goes into a Level II Coma, with no spine… very similar to a cat.  As a result of the Level II Coma that Pebbles is in, Murphy puts on her slippers comes down the hall, and now has to potty(after checking on Pebbles with a ball), Pebbles has begun as a result of the Level II Coma has begun to melt into the floor.   As I open the door for Murphy, Pebbles has emerged from her Coma, to on the back Yoga position legs open and tail tip flip.  I take one step towards Pebbles, and the Level II Coma with no spine and melting in the floor, instantly returns.

Murphy now wants back in and down the hall she goes not giving any notice to the mass of goo that was once my dog but now a piece of artwork on the rug.   Nala & Wonder Woman are in bed, Micah is snoring away, and Murphy is snoring away.  I am left with a pile of goo back in the living room observing Pebbles now in the Yoga Boat Pose position.  I admire her.  I should resent the heck out of everyone, I am the one that has flown across the country, worked an 18 hour day, now have to deal with a puppy that is in a Coma state practicing yoga, with no spine…but then I just realize how lucky I am, and lie down with Pebbles, grab a blanket and call it a night.

Peace everyone !
