I learned the hard way and it cost me a lot of money and time plus attorney fees since she would not honor the agreement.   When I got her puppy it weighed 8 pounds at 8-9 weeks old and no shots.  I kept the pup anyway in hopes of her keeping our agreement.  There is no excuse for a mastiff puppy to have weighed that unless it was not properly taken care of.
I finally had enough of her tantrums and I returned the pup to her, per her request, not because I had to return her like she made it out to be on another forum when she was trying to get the pup from Indiana (a friend of hers picked up the pup at my designated area and she was from Indiana) to Conneticut.  I live in Illinois.   I sent the pup back at 7-8 months of age and in excellent health (along with a health certificate) and certainly in better health than when it arrived here.
I have all my emails too, to back up what I am saying here as well as pictures of the dog being picked up and how she looked when she left.
AKC, sent me the pups registration papers in my name since she didn't respond to there request.  I signed them and sent them back to AKC as soon as I got them (Which was within a day or two after her being returned.)  I also have all the paper work from akc as well.   So did you not get her from Indiana to Connecticut like akc requested?  Thats probably because you lied to them and they caught you.
So where did I steal your puppy or is it your not telling the person that has her the truth?????

Just to jog someone's memory since they seem to have forgotten what was signed or not and what was sent to my attorney.     Look at the date of pickup was Sept. 20, 2009....Joan

Now that I have all my documents together I am hoping she does the right thing and post everywhere how she lied about me stealing a puppy from her.
Pay attention to the date of the letter from akc....Joan

Doesn't surprise me at all that Joan was in the right and has proof of it and the other person doesn't!!! I think we've all seen over the past couple of years the kind of person the opposing person is....I STILL hope the other puppy buyers get their deposits back. I still find it SO ironic that "the opposing person" has the AUDACITY to accuse Joan of such things all the while THAT person is keeping puppy deposits and NOT delivering the puppy!

So can I ask, why did she ask for the puppy back in the first place?

Which time?   Everytime things didn't go the way she wanted it or thought it should have been a certain way she had a tantrum and demanded the dog back and finally after months of this kind of abuse from her I returned the dog as she requested.  A couple times was for not getting back to her in a timely fashion, again as she thought I should have.   My daughter and I had a litter at the time and I was busy with that.   This breeding that was done with my daughter was planned a long time before my deal with her and this breeding was never mentioned to her.  She had a tantrum over that too.  She had her own bitches to pick from and one took but they didn't survive so I had planned to do a breeding again but I didn't know when as I was exhausted from the two bitches and trying to save her a female.....Joan

If Joan wanted to be dishonest, She had both the puppy& AKC papers...She could of said anything, and kept it....The other litter Joan is talking about that Angie demended a pup from was a closed litter, and nothing was sold...
The proof is, Joan still has them 19 months later....But i understand two of them maybe headed to Texas...

To me all the rest of this is mute and in that two years now I am looking at how many people she has told this BS too.  I am asking that she show me how I supposedly stole a puppy from her and asking that she publicly apologize and so far she hasn't done either one......Joan

Joan, just please don't hold your breath! From what I've seen, she never takes responsibility. It's always someone else's fault and then it's the poor sick little me story. I'm the most sympathetic person in the world until I realize they are using their illness or the illness/tragedy in their family to elicit sympathy to take advantage of people. Then, my sympathy evaporates!

I know, Teresa, exactly what you are saying.  I lived it for months with her.   I am hoping for once in her life she would do the right thing....Joan

I know the day will come when I deal with someone really "out there", but so far, I've been fairly lucky with most of the breeders I've dealt with and EXTREMELY LUCKY with the homes my babies have gone to...

Wow, I didn't even know that service existed (aside).

Anyway, I had to laugh when she got ugly with the shipper for mentioning "what dates". Well, DUH, of course a transporting kinda needs to know dates....But yup, looks like she sold her and got her shipped. Kinda hard to do on a puppy that you supposedly had stolen from you, isn't it?!
